Maziya Sports and Recreation Club will face New Radiant Sports Club in the final of the Cup Winners' Cup, after an 18-year hiatus.
The finalists were confirmed following the semi-finals played on Thursday. Maziya came from behind to defeat Buru Sports Club 2-1, while New Radiant beat Odi Sports Club 5-3.
In Maziya's semi-final, Buru took the lead late in the first half through Areen Abdulla Ibrahim. Maziya turned the match around early in the second half with goals from Ibrahim Aisam and Benjamin Thomas Kuku.
New Radiant secured their place in the final thanks to a hat-trick from Brazilian forward Dorielton Gomes Nascimento. Ethan Ibrahim Zaki and Amdhan Ali also scored, while Odi's goals came from Ibrahim Waheed Hassan (Ibbe), Muzadhaan Hassan and Mohamed Sahau.
The Cup Winners' Cup features the champions of the Dhivehi Premier League, FA Cup, President's Cup and the fourth participating team, Buru Sports Club, which reached the semi-finals of the other two domestic competitions last season.
League-stage fixtures will resume on 15 August, with Odi taking on Buru before Maziya and New Radiant meet again. The Cup Winners' Cup final is scheduled for 18 August.
