The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) spent more than MVR 8 million on inpatient treatment at private hospitals under its Medical Assistance Programme in April.

Figures released by NSPA show that the funding covered patients admitted to ADK Hospital and Tree Top Hospital.

NSPA disbursed MVR 3.6 million for treatment at ADK Hospital. The largest share was spent on kidney disease treatment, followed by other medical conditions and bone-related illnesses. Assistance was also provided for cardiovascular, respiratory and burn cases.

At Tree Top Hospital, NSPA spent more than MVR 4.6 million. The highest expenditure was on bone-related treatment, followed by other medical conditions and burn cases. Funding was also provided for kidney, neurological, women's, paediatric and gastrointestinal treatments.
