Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) has submitted their investigative report on the disappearance of Shaim Abdulla to the Parliament Committee on Human Rights and Gender.
HRCM revealed on Sunday that they submitted their report on 14 year old Shaim who went missing while he was under state care to the committee upon their request.
They added that the report contains information that the commission had received in addition to an findings of an investigation carried out by them.
Shaim went missing from the orphanage on 18 June and the Maldives Police Service appealed to the public to find him on 20 June. After extensive searches, he was found at a residential house in Male’ City.
A Maldivian man and woman was arrested for hiding Shaim after an initial investigation as well.
