MIFCO has decided to open its fish shops on Fridays as well to expand its business.
MIFCO stated that to expand its fish shop business and enhance services provided to customers, it has decided to open its retail shops on Fridays starting today, bringing major changes to operating hours.
Under these changes, shops will be open on Fridays from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM and from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. On other days of the week, shops will remain open from 8:30 AM to 11:00 PM, excluding prayer times, the company said.
Accordingly, MIFCO fish shops located in Malé, Hulhumalé, and Addu will provide services in line with these changes.
The decision was made as Friday is a day when Maldivians place high priority on family gatherings and special lunches, with the aim of providing easy access to fresh fish products needed for those occasions. MIFCO also noted plans to introduce various special products to the market specifically for Fridays.
This change will provide great convenience for people working on official weekdays, allowing them to purchase fish and other MIFCO products for their households over the weekend.
This change follows the resumption of operations in Kanduoihgiri to ensure uninterrupted supply of fish products to the Malé region, as well as the recent inauguration of a dried fish factory and an ice plant on the island.
MIFCO stated that alongside these projects, its production output has increased, enhancing its capacity to meet customer demand.
