Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has opened a new passenger lounge and service area at Terminal 1 of Velana International Airport to enhance the travel experience.

MACL said the new facility is designed to improve passenger comfort and service standards. It includes an additional 750-square-metre waiting area on the terminal's ground floor, furnished with a variety of seating options for departing passengers.

The new space also features a 136-square-metre children's play area equipped with multi-level play structures, slides, climbing features and a ball pit, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for families travelling with young children.

In addition, the facility includes a Bank of Maldives counter offering foreign currency exchange services and US dollar sales for Maldivian travellers.

MACL said the new passenger area marks a significant step in its ongoing efforts to modernise Terminal 1 and improve passenger services at Velana International Airport.
