The Government has collected MVR 2.2 billion in airport-related taxes and fees so far this year, according to the Ministry of Finance's latest Weekly Fiscal Development Report.
As of 16 July, revenue from Departure Tax stood at MVR 1.09 billion, while Airport Development Fee (ADF) collections reached MVR 1.11 billion.
The combined total marks a 15.7 per cent increase compared with the same period last year. During the corresponding period in 2025, the Government collected MVR 975.6 million in Departure Tax and MVR 977.7 million in Airport Development Fees.
Tourism Goods and Services Tax (TGST) revenue reached MVR 6.7 billion, up 7.7 per cent from MVR 6.2 billion recorded during the same period last year.
Combined revenue from TGST and General Goods and Services Tax (GST) increased by 9 per cent to MVR 9.7 billion, with General GST revenue alone rising by 12.1 per cent.
Overall tax revenue collected by the Government reached MVR 17.6 billion as of 16 July, representing an 11.3 per cent increase compared with MVR 15.8 billion collected during the same period last year.
