The first term of the academic year has concluded, and school holidays have commenced today.

With the conclusion of the first term studies of this year, report books were handed over to all students today.

The first term studies of this year began on January 27. Following the holidays, the second term studies will begin after 16 days on August 2.

After the conclusion of the second term studies of this year, students will receive a 25-day annual holiday. This will be from December 18 to January 12 of next year.

In this academic year, more than 77,000 students are pursuing education across approximately 218 government schools. The Ministry of Education stated that 4,790 students were newly allocated slots for Grade 1 across various schools this year.

This includes 1,748 students for Grade 1 in schools within the Malé area and 3,042 students for Grade 1 in schools across the atolls. Additionally, alongside the academic year's studies, a permanent new school from Grades 1 to 10 has been opened in Hulhumalé Phase 2. This school has provided slots for more than 1,900 students.
