Maldivian Ambassador to the UAE, Dr. Hussain Niyaz has been appointed as the Maldivian permanent representative for the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
Dr. Niyaz was presented with the letter of appointment by the Director General of IREAN, Francesco La Camera at their Head Office in Abu Dhabi.
Although being a member since 2009, the Maldives did not appoint a permanent representative until now. IRENA has 160 member countries along with the EU.
Foreign Minister, Abdulla Shahid sent his commemoration to Dr. Niyaz on his appointment via Twitter stating that he looks forward to close cooperation.
Climate Diplomacy is one of the most important bases of the current administration led by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
