Speaker of the Parliament, the former President of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed, has said that billions in financial damages were done after contracts were meddled with during the presidency of Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

The former President Nasheed has made the statement after the former President Yameen has said that the he is going to change the agreements when he take charge again.

Ex-President Nasheed said that meddling with contracts with disregard to the damages is one reason the people will not elect President Yameen.

Speaking at the PPM-PNC function held at the Carnival Area last night, former President Yameen said that all agreements will be changed once he returns to power.
