Police have warned that renting out bank accounts or bank cards is a criminal offense following a rise in such cases.

In a Facebook post on Friday, the Anti-Scam Center said it had detected advertisements on TikTok and Telegram offering “bank account rentals” or “easy loans” in exchange for account access.

The center stressed that bank accounts, PIN numbers, and OTP codes must never be shared with others, even if the account belongs to the individual. Authorities said rented accounts are often used for illegal activities, including money laundering.

The Anti-Scam Center warned that account holders are legally responsible for all transactions made through their accounts. Those involved could face criminal charges and restrictions on banking services.

Police and financial institutions are working together to take legal action against individuals who rent out their bank accounts, the statement added.
