Authorities have taken legal action in connection with the documentary “Aisha,” produced by the newspaper Andhadhu, which contains serious allegations against former President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.

Police have launched an investigation into the documentary, which is reportedly based on an anonymous interview. As part of the probe, officials have withheld Easha Ashraf’s passport until July 26.

The investigation has also extended to others linked to the project. Passports belonging to Adhadhu Editor Hassan was also withheld, along with that of Fiyaz Moosa, the company’s CEO. Police visited Easha’s apartment in Hulhumale’ and carried out further searches under a court order.

In addition, law enforcement officers searched the newspaper’s office, seizing electronic devices that may serve as evidence. The newspaper stated that the police action followed the publication of the documentary on August 28.

The case remains under investigation as authorities continue to examine the claims made in the film and the individuals involved in its production.
