Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has decided to include members who are not part of the JSC in their investigative teams.
JSC noted that after this decision, a list will be compiled which includes the requirements to become part of the investigative teams. They will then announce to find people who fit the set requirements and standards.
Only members of the JSC were part of their investigative committees till now. They are currently investigating a number of cases against several judges.
Other things decided during the meeting include putting a halt on appointment of magistrates. The JSC explained the decision by saying that it was their show of support towards the government's efforts to revise the court laws and the commissions's laws in addition to the review of judges' qualifications.
JSC additionally decided to not provide PNC with an audio recording and summary of the meeting held on June 13, since such meetings include sensitive information regarding judges.
