The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has introduced a new hotline, “1544,” to handle customer complaints related to ‘Favara’ payment services. The initiative was launched by Governor Ahmed Munawar at a special ceremony.

According to MMA, the hotline aims to enhance the quality of services provided by Payments Maldives Private Limited and address issues faced by users. Payments Maldives will oversee the review and resolution of complaints received through this channel.

The authority also clarified that the existing hotline, “1444,” will remain active for broader financial service complaints. The new number is specifically dedicated to payment services offered by Payments Maldives and Powea.

MMA expressed confidence that the new system will help resolve transaction-related challenges more quickly and strengthen public trust in the country’s banking and financial system.
