A police officer has been attacked in Raa Atoll Maduvari.

Maldives Police Service said that an officer working at the Maduvari police station was grabbed by the throat and attacked today and a 22-year-old local man was arrested regarding the attack.

Police said that a pickup truck on the island was towed after a license-less driver used the vehicle without a registration plate after being advised against it. A confrontation took place when the driver went to the station with a group of people to collect vehicle.

Yesterday, a police officer was attacked in Male’ City yesterday around 1:14 p.m. after a motorcycle going the wrong way on a one-way street with a child was stopped. A 31-year-old man was arrested for the assault.
