Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has revealed that they will be starting an investigation to determine why case proceedings are prolonged in the courts, and that if the root cause is found to be a fault of the judges, a disciplinary investigation will be launched against them.
During a the commission meeting held on Wednesday, it was decided that they will investigate as to why certain cases are stretched on during the court process, mainly due to the numerous complaints they have received on the matter. Additionally, disciplinary investigations will be launched against any judge who may be the reason behind prolonged case procedures.
A three member sub committee has been assigned to investigate such cases.
JSC Vice President Masthoor Husnee and Members Hisaan Hussain and Abdul Rauf Ibrahim are members of the sub committee.
