Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Aishath Nahula has said that Maldivian seamen are talent and responsible people.

She made the statement on the occasion of the Day of the Seafarers sending well wishes to seamen and their families.

The Transport Minister said that Maldivian seamen has a reputation for their responsible work among the international community and it is the responsibility to always work to maintain that reputation.

Highlighting the motto of the year’s Day of Seafarers; Empowering Women in the Maritime Community, Minister Nahula said that women in the field of cargo shipping shows that it is not a sector only for men.

In her address, the Transport Minister said that it is a priority of the administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to work with the stakeholders of the industry to identify and address the challenges facing the industry.
