Due to the growing number of individuals traveling for Umrah during the school holidays, the national airline, Maldivian, has increased its flight frequencies to Jeddah.
Maldivian had previously announced on the 13th of this month that three additional flights would operate from Malé to Jeddah on the 27th and 28th of this month. Return flights from Jeddah to Malé were scheduled for January 10th, 11th, and 12th.
Today, Island Aviation Services (IAS), Maldivian's parent company, stated that demand for flights to Jeddah, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram has significantly increased. Consequently, IAS has augmented the number of flights to these destinations.
Specifically, over 20 flights have been scheduled for Jeddah, and flights to Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram have been increased to more than 10.
