Gender Minister Shidhaatha Shareef has been summoned to the Parliament for questioning, over the case of the 14 year old who went missing from the orphanage.

Shaim Abdulla, 14, went missing from the orphanage in Villimale' on June 18.

Faresmaathodaa MP, Hussain Mohamed Latheef submitted to summon the Minister, who has since been officially notified of the summon.

Minister Shidhaathaa will be questioned over her responsibility in the case and to see who and who is responsible for the disappearance of the boy. She will also be questioned on the actions taken against those who were responsible.

The search for the 14-year-old continues and the police have searched some houses under a court order as well. However, the police said that the search is ongoing and the boy is yet to be found.

Both the police and the Gender Ministry yet to say where or how the boy went missing. Police have previously said that they are going through CCTV footage to find the boy.

A child from the orphanage has gone missing at a time where renovations are underway at the orphanage including grills on the balconies for improved security.
