The national airline, Maldivian, has announced its plans to operate flights to Australia.

Maldivian stated today that these direct flights between Australia and the Maldives will be conducted in partnership with "Luxury Escapes," an Australian travel company. The airline confirmed that these flights will operate from Melbourne, Australia.

These flights are being launched on a seasonal basis, with operations scheduled to commence on January 17th of next year, Maldivian announced. The airline further stated that flights between the Maldives and Australia are planned to operate once a week.

Maldivian has not yet disclosed the ticket prices for these flights.
