President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that, effective today, entities registered with Authentic Maldives can sell their products on Alibaba.com.

Speaking at a meeting with small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) owners, the President stated that the government is undertaking numerous initiatives to support those in the creative industry who manufacture and sell products online. He further emphasized that expanding this industry and facilitating the sale of products to various international markets is a key commitment of the current administration's manifesto.

The President highlighted significant progress made with PayPal, noting that the system integration is complete, and arrangements for making payments via PayPal will be finalized in January.

"Today, arrangements have been established for parties registered with Authentic Maldives to sell their products on Alibaba. 400 vendors are currently registered on Alibaba, and they now have access to the platform," the President affirmed.

The President explained that to sell products on Alibaba, one must register with Authentic Maldives, and this registration will grant access to sell products on the Alibaba platform.

Furthermore, the President announced that Bank of Maldives' "Maldivian PayPal" – "Swipe" – has completed its development, and its beta version will be launched this month. He added that within the first quarter of next year, this facility will be integrated with international networks, enabling the transfer of funds from abroad without additional charges.
