Italian private airline Neos has started their operations from the new terminal of Velana International Airport (VIA).

MACL stated that a special ceremony was held at the terminal yesterday to mark the commencement of Neos services from the new terminal.

The ceremony was graced by Major (Retired) Mohamed Najaah, Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation Limited.

MACL further stated that Neos' Director of Ground Operations, Damiano Rosso, along with senior officials from MACL, participated in the ceremony.

During the ceremony, Neos' check-in counters were officially opened, and gifts were presented to 341 passengers departing on the airline. Additionally, a warm welcome with cultural activities was extended to 346 passengers who arrived in the Maldives on Neos' first flight, NO610, which approached the new terminal.

Neos began its flights to the Maldives on December 20, 2004. This airline is the second-largest in Italy.

With Neos, the number of airlines operating from the new terminal has increased to 27. MACL states that its goal is to provide the most complete and highest quality service to all airlines traveling to the Maldives.
