Bank of Maldives (BML) has received the prestigious “Outstanding Achievement of the Year in Financial Inclusion” award from Qorus, a highly respected international program recognizing excellence in the global financial sector at the Reinvent Forum Dubai 2025.
The Bank was recognized for its profound positive impact on expanding financial accessibility across the nation through its ‘Mulhi Raajje ah BML ATM’ project, which was completed on 28th October 2025. This landmark initiative ensured that every inhabited island in the country now has access to essential banking services by establishing Self-Service Banking units across the entire archipelago. The “Mulhi Raajje ah BML ATM” project successfully established ATM services on 105 islands in just nine months, transforming banking convenience for thousands of Maldivians.
Commenting on the achievement, Mohamed Shareef, the Bank’s CEO and Managing Director, stated, “We are proud to receive this award in recognition of our efforts to expand banking services across the country. This achievement reflects the significance of our journey. We are happy to be present in every inhabited island, and we remain committed to further enhancing our services to better serve our customers.”
