Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has said that 30 days will be given to the Supreme Court Judge, Abdulla Didi, to respond to the report after the investigation into the discipline case against him.
When Judge Didi and his defence team began responding to the allegations being made against him at the open hearing at Dharubaaruge, JSC member, Hisaan Hussain said that this was not a trial and the responses should be to the questions asked of him.
Judge Didi’s defence team has repeatedly said that the accused has a constitutional right to enter a plea of not guilty.
And the document on the police investigation against him was delivered this morning at 10:10 a.m. at Dharubaaruge and the investigation began at 10:12 a.m. They requested that adequate time be given to look at the document and respond to the questions from the JSC.
