A motion has been submitted to the Parliament Committee on Independent Institutions, for the removal of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) President, Hassan Luthufee.

Velidhee MP Mohamed Abdulla Shafeeq submitted the motion after members of the ACC were presented to the commission and questioned regarding the whereabouts of Luthufee. The motion was submitted in presence of the ACC members as well.

Gan MP Mohamed Wisam seconded the motion.

The committee had also ordered ACC to submit a summary of attendance records of ACC members to the committee.

During the committee meeting, Vice President of ACC noted that Luthufee had not come in to the commission since February 6, and no communications have been established since April 14.
