The audit report made by the Jail Committee after inspecting the jails and prisons in the country has been presented to the parliament and set for review by the Human Rights and Gender Committee of the parliament.

On the debate of the report MP for North Galolhu constituency, Eva Abdulla proposed for the committee to make recommendations after the committee review.

The audit report includes the state of the detention facilities, treatment of inmates, internal operations and the challenges they face.

The Home Ministry formed the Prisons Reform Monitoring Committee on 3 June to monitor and track the implementation of the reform instructions.
