Police have recovered more than $400 left behind in a taxi and returned it to its rightful owner.

According to police, the money was reported missing after being forgotten in a bag inside a taxi. Officers traced the case and successfully returned the funds within five hours of the report being made.

In a separate incident, a car was reported missing in the early hours of Sunday. Police said the vehicle, which a man had been travelling in, was located and recovered with the help of CCTV footage.

Authorities have not released further details but confirmed that both matters have now been resolved.
