Police have confirmed that the deceased found is the missing Nepali man and stated that so far, no suspicious circumstances have been identified regarding his death.
The body was discovered last Monday in an area allocated for the development of a water theme park. As the body was found 3-4 days after death, it had decomposed to the point where identification was difficult.
According to available information, a rope was found around the neck of the deceased when the body was discovered. However, it is unclear whether the death was a result of suicide or if others were involved.
A family member of the deceased informed "One", and another source also confirmed to "One" that the body found was that of a 29-year-old Nepali man named Rupan. According to his work permit, he was employed as an electrician in a Maldivian company.
Rupan had been reported missing since last Thursday night. The police were notified of his disappearance on Friday.
Subsequently, the police had stated that although the identity was not confirmed, some findings from the investigation suggested that it could be the foreign national who had been reported missing since last Thursday.
In a message sent to media outlets tonight, the police said that forensic tests have confirmed the deceased to be Rupan Thapa Magar (29 years old), a Nepali national who had been reported missing since last Thursday. The police also stated that so far in their investigation, no suspicious circumstances have been identified regarding Rupan's death.
The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
