Minister of Health, Abdulla Ameen, has said that the Maldives National University (MNU) began their medical college services without adequate preparations.
Speaking at a press conference by the Health Ministry held at the President’s Office, Minister Ameen said that they have learned that the medical college began without enough preparation which has caused numerous challenges for the MNU.
Minister Ameen said that the Health Ministry is working with MNU and other institutes to solve the issues. He said that the college may have started early on good intentions or a political motive.
At the press conference today, an official from the Health Ministry said that having a medical college in the country is a good thing. And starting courses soon is a good thing and not illegal.
