Opposition party, People's National Congress (PNC) has condemned the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) following their statement declaring their decision to disobey the the order from the Supreme Court.

The statement was issued by PNC last night.

On the request of the Speaker of the Parliament, the DJA suspended the Supreme Court Judge, Abdulla Didi. And the Supreme Court ordered not to take action against the judge.

PNC condemned DJA stating that this was an act of "revenge" while holding super-majority of the government. And the DJA's decision to refuse to obey the Supreme Court order would result in the destruction of the judicial system.

The opposition party said that only the courts reserve the right to overrule a written law and no one can operate outside the Constitution. And the DJA has to obey the Supreme Court as they are the highest judicial authority in the country.
