The state revenue has increased last month.
According to statistics released by the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA), the state received MVR 3.39 billion in revenue last month. Of this, MVR 1.6 billion came from taxes alone.
While the country received MVR 3.39 billion in revenue last month, in July of last year, the revenue was MVR 2.93 billion. This represents a 15 percent increase this year.
MIRA's statistics show that revenue in dollars also increased last month. The revenue in dollars amounted to USD 105.85 million. During the same period last year, it was USD 75.7 million.
The statistics show that the largest portion of revenue comes from income tax and GST (Goods and Services Tax).
