Home Minister and seniors from Police, Immigration and Prisons summoned by committee

Home Minister Imran Abdulla along with a senior official of Maldives Police Service, Commissioner of Prisons Abdulla Munaz and a senior official of Maldives Immigration are being summoned by the Parliament Committee on National Security regarding the permission given to former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb to seek medical treatment abroad.

The committee passed to summon them at 4:00pm today, after it was submitted to the committee that Adeeb may attempt to flee during the trip. They had decided to clear two things when the summoned people are in attendance at the committee.

One of them are the steps that the organisations have taken to prevent any attempts of fleeing by Adeeb. Second is finding if there was any room for Adeeb to flee and how that could be prevented, and how the committee could be of help.
