Construction Minister Dr Abdulla Muththalib has emphasised that foreign investment in the Maldives should translate into tangible employment and business opportunities for young Maldivians.
Speaking at the inauguration of Maafaru International Airport, Minister Dr Muththalib highlighted President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s vision to uplift the nation by enhancing local capacity and improving living standards. He stressed that foreign investments should not be viewed merely as a revenue stream for the state but as a vehicle to empower the youth.
The only benefit for Maafaru residents must not be just the sight of jets landing, he said, urging youth in N. Atoll to seize the opportunities presented by nearby world-class resorts and ongoing multi-million dollar investments in the region.
