Criminal Court on Tuesday ordered to remand the man arrested for harassing a woman on the streets till the end of his trial.

Criminal Court ordered to do so after he was presented in court for a remand hearing on Tuesday.

The incident that occurred last Saturday was reported to Police on Sunday. They revealed that there are additional victims as well. A 56 year old man was arrested on Monday regarding the case, which is being investigated further.

Police had appealed anyone with further details regarding the case to reach out to their hotline 3000600 or 9790163.

The issue was first brought to public attention after a victim had posted a video of the incident on social media. The man is seen sharing lewd remarks about the victim in the video, after which many had called on the authorities to step in and take action against the man.

Police Spokesperson Izimiya Zahir in a tweet confirmed that the case will be investigated. CP Mohamed Hameedh had also confirmed that he had been following the issue and that it will be investigated.
