As part of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s campaign pledges, the government’s breakfast program has been inaugurated in all the schools in the country.
The program was fully inaugurated by the Vice President, Faisal Naseem at a ceremony held at Thaajuddeen School accompanied by the Education Minister, Dr. Aishath Ali.
With the start of the second term of the academic year, the program is now in full effect despite delays due to the First Six Fasting Days of the month of Shawaal.
Speaking at the ceremony today, Dr. Aishath Ali said that the breakfast will be provided at every government school in the country.
Over MVR 50 million from the state budget is being spent to provide breakfast to students in 213 schools.
