32 people have been arrested in various cases as part of an operation called "Operation Secure" initiated by Interpol, in which the Maldives participated.

The four-month operation involved 32 countries, including the Maldives Police Cyber Crime Center. According to the police, the operation was aimed at dismantling the infrastructure of those who commit crimes via the internet.

During the operation, more than 20,000 IP addresses and domains related to information-stealing malware were eliminated.

Police said that "Information Stealers" are dangerous malware designed to steal important information such as browser credentials, passwords, credit card information, and cryptocurrency wallet information. Such information is also used to carry out further cyber attacks.

The Maldives Police Service's Cyber Crime Center investigated information related to the Maldives in this operation, working with Interpol and other relevant agencies to gather and analyze intelligence information.

As part of the operation, Maldivian police compiled reports and shared relevant findings with other operation participants. They also obtained information necessary to identify dangerous activities related to the Maldives.

Police also reported that a total of 41 servers and more than 100 gigabytes of data were seized during the operation. They also arrested 32 people linked to illegal cyber activities and informed over 216,000 victims and potential victims, advising them to take protective measures.

Regarding the operation, the police further stated that such collaborative efforts with Interpol and other participating countries are essential to eliminate criminal networks that pose a threat to individuals and businesses. They also mentioned that they are working to enhance the capabilities of the Cyber Crime Center to increase the safety and security of the Maldives' digital environment. Additionally, they place great importance on seeking international cooperation and collaboration.
