Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that if we do not act against terrorism, future generations will not forgive us.
PM Modi made the statement while addressing the Maldivian parliament. He described terrorism as a great challenge to the current generation and noted that it was not specific to a certain country or religion but was rather a more global threat.
He added that every passing a day, an innocent dies somewhere in the world due to a heinous act of terrorism. He also raised questions on as to how terrorists never run out of money of weaponry, given that they are not a part of any jobs.
PM Modi stressed that the biggest danger of the issue was state sponsored terrorism. He added that it was sad that some people classify terrorists into groups of good terrorists and bad terrorists. PM Modi highlighted that everyone needed to work together in order to fight terrorism.
The Prime Minister also raised questions as to why international conferenced could not be held on fighting terrorism, just how conferences are held on combating climate change.
During his official state visit, India and Maldives have signed six MOUs.
