A ten day remand has been set for one of the two who were apprehended with 3 kilograms of drugs, during a raid at a residence in the reclaimed island of Hulhumale.

The 52 year old local woman who was arrested in the case has been released while the 25 year old man has been given a remand duration of 10 days.

The woman was released after certain conditions was levied on her, upon being presented to the Hulhumale Court on Thursday. However, the conditions were not revealed by Police.

Police added that he had confessed in court that the drugs belonged to him, and that his mother was not aware about its presence. The two were first arrested last Monday night, however they were released by the court twice citing procedural issues.

Criminal Court had first released them, asserting that the court order issued by the Hulhumale Court was not valid. Upon being presented to Hulhumale Court for a remand hearing the second time, Hulhumale Court had too released the two of them.

Police had then arrested the two for a third time, after obtaining a court order from Hulhumale Court last night.
