Legal Attorney Husnu Suood has called for the arrest of two judges after two people who were arrested with drugs from a house in Hulhumale’.

Suood took to Twitter calling for the arrests last night after the two people who were arrested were released by the court for a second time.

The 52-year-old woman and the 25-year-old man were initially released stating that there was an error on the court order from the Hulhumale’ Court where the name of the Judge who approved the arrest was missing.

They were arrested for a second time again last night. However, they were released at their remand hearing.

Maldives Police Service said that the court order for the arrests last night was acquired by the Investigator on duty last night. And the remand hearing was attended by the Investigator on the morning shift – both authorized to investigate the case.

The Criminal Court last night said that the first arrest last night was outside the law and so the remand has to be appealed at the High Court.
