Court has once again issued 15 days to the remand duration of the individual arrested with regards to the sexual abuse of a 9 year old girl.

Police confirmed that the 71 year old arrested regarding the case has been given a 15 day remand period once again, after the initial fifteen days were over.

Maldives Police Service previously revealed that they had received information regarding the sexual abuse of a child on May 10. They added that upon the initial investigation, the 13 year old and 16 year old brothers of the child were the prime suspects of the case.However a 71 year old was arrested recently regarding the case.

Since the case had hit public, several people had leveraged various accusations on the lover of the child’s mother.

The child has since been moved to a safe environment.
