Eid Prayers for the Eid-ul-Fitr has been held across the country.

The prayer was held at the mosques where the Friday Prayers are held in Male’ City as the weather did not allow for a large congregation in an open area.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih attended the prayer at the Islamic Center and exchanged Eid greetings with the people after the prayer.

Despite the heavy rain experienced in a majority of the country his morning, many attended the Eid prayers. After the mosques were full, some performed the prayer in the rain.

National Meteorological Service has issued a Yellow Weather Alert for parts of the country. The most recent was for the islands from Kaafu Atoll to Thaa Atoll this morning around 6:30 a.m.

A White Weather Alert was issued for the islands from Thaa Atoll to Addu City and would remain in effect until 11:45 a.m.
