A committee has been formed to look into the issues that have been raised in the Prison Audit Report.
Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday revealed that the Minister had formed Prisons Reform Monitoring Committee to monitor and ensure that all suggestions and issues that were raised in the Prison Audit Report were being resolved.
The five member committee includes; Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla, Minister of State for Home Affairs Ali Nazeer, Inspector of Correctional Service Ahmed Mohamed Fulhu, Superintendent of Prisons Ahmed Asif in addition to Chief Inspector of Police Izmia Zahir.
An audit of the Maldives prisons were one of the 100 day goals of the new government.
