Supreme Court Justice, Abdulla Didi has refuted corruption allegations and said that no illegal funds are in his account nor ones related to him.
Justice Abdulla Didi's claimed so in a statement, where he refuted the allegations that he had taken a bribe of USD 1 million to sentence former President, Mohamed Nasheed to jail.
The statement claimed that it was a legal right to protect everyone's reputation and name, and added that criminal allegations could only be leveled based on facts and evidence instead of hearsay. Hence, the statement described the reports of his alleged corruption published on news medias on June 2 to be rather irresponsible.
It further added that bank transactions are detailed and monitored by the banks hence details of such would be available if any institution wanted to inquire about it. The statement stressed that every person had the right do present their defense and that the works to slander his reputation was a low grade act.
He assured that there were no illegal funds in his account unlike the recent news reports.
