Maldives Police Service has said that the Sinamale’ Bridge will be closed this Sunday as the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, will be making an official visit to the Maldives.

Talking to the press today regarding the security measures for the Indian PM’s visit, Chief Superintendent, Moosa Ali said that the Sinamale’ Bridge will be closed from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on 9 June, Sunday.

He said that the Green Zone area will be closed on 8 June from 12 p.m. onwards. The area closed off will be from Sosun Magu, including the parliament building, to Salt Restaurant, through Republic Square.

The Indian PM is set to address the Maldivian parliament on his official visit to the Maldives set to begin on 7 June.

Prime Minister Modi is set to address the parliament on 8 June at 6 p.m. and the Maldivian cabinet ministers and ambassadors are invited.
