Government has extended the deadline for submitting complaints about the list of people selected for flats under the 'Gedhoruveriyaa' scheme to April 15.
The Housing Ministry announced the extension after reviewing complaints about those who were either wrongly excluded or included in the list. People who believe they meet the eligibility criteria but were left out can submit their complaints with supporting documents.
The complaints process started on August 8, 2023, when a provisional list was released. The original deadline for complaints was extended from March 20 to April 15, 2025, due to public holidays and concerns about the process.
On February 27, 2025, the Housing Ministry published a list of 4,939 applicants, but only 1,820 were found eligible for flats. Most of the others were disqualified for not meeting the required criteria or submitting incorrect documents. The ministry will continue to review and address complaints.
