Ministry of Islamic Affairs have revealed that this year's Fitr Zakat will be distributed starting tomorrow.

According to the Ministry, Zakat will be distributed from 9:00am till 12:00pm, 12:45pm till 3:00pm and 9:00pm till 11:00pm.

Zakat distribution will be at the hall of Islamic Ministry and food items will be distributed at Arabiyya School. The Ministry added that Zakat will be distributed to those who are in the newly established register of the poor.

Those who come to collect zakat must bring their ID card or any other official documentation.

The Ministry had previously revealed that by May 26 MVR 2.3 million had been paid as Fitr Zakat in Male, Villimale and Hulhumale.

50,738 people had paid their zakat in that period.
