Ibrahim Rasheed, the Vice President of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), has resigned from his position.

He has resigned after the Independent Institutions Committee passed a motion yesterday to send the matter of his dismissal to the Parliament floor to begin the process of removing him.

The exact reason for initiating the process to remove Ibrahim Rasheed from the commission is not yet known.

However, after the committee submits the matter to the Parliament floor, the Speaker will send the matter back to the committee for further study. The committee will decide to dismiss him and send it to the Parliament floor only after studying the matter and giving him an opportunity to defend himself in the committee.

In a post on X today, CSC said that they thank Ibrahim Rasheed for his work as the Vice President of CSC. They also said that positive changes have come to CSC due to his leadership.
