A road safety awareness campaign is to be carried out on coming Sunday.

Speaking during a press briefing, Minister of Youth Ahmed Mahloof revealed that the awareness campaign is being organised as it was a suggestion of Vice President Faisal Naseem as well. He added that the Ministry of Youth, Maldives Police Service and Transport Ministry will collaborate on the campaign that will be held on June 2 at 4:30pm.

Mahloof also added that a number of companies will be participating in the event as well. The campaign mostly targeting social media aims to reach as many people as possible.

Transport Minister Aishath Nahula said that while the imposing of helmet law reduced the number of accidents on the bridge, they have been on the rise once again since Ramdan began. Hence, she noted that this campaign was rather important.
