Fenaka Corporation has released a video where residents of HDh. Nellaidhoo break into the control room of the Fenaka Powerhouse in the island.

The video was shared with media during a press conference held on Thursday. According to Fenaka, a station manager had helped the islanders in the break in as well. Managing Director of Fenaka, Ahmed Saeed had condemned this action and noted that the relevant authorities had been notified and that the manager has since been fired from his job.

Saeed stressed that in majority of the cases, power outages in the islands are caused by easily solvable issues. These are sometimes caused by the carelessness of the employees as well.

He added that residents complain even when a chit is issued informing everyone about maintenance works earlier, which interrupt the transmission of power. In addition to this, the lack of spare parts available in the country poses several difficulties as well.

Saeed noted that some engines work perfectly without maintenance for stretches of six months or so, though maintenance works usually require power interruptions. He added that being angry and expressing that during such situations is never a solution.

He added that they are working to improve their services to provide a better experience to their customers.
