The water supply project in L. Isdhoo has been successfully completed, bringing a reliable water source to 245 households. The Ministry of Construction announced today that the project has been handed over to the operator and is now providing services under the Defects Liability Period.

As part of the project, significant infrastructure has been established, including two reverse osmosis (RO) plants, a 60-tonne rainwater plant, a 400-tonne rainwater storage tank, and two drinking water storage tanks at 415 locations. Additionally, 25 kW solar panels have been installed to support the system’s energy needs.

The project, which commenced in 2023, was funded by the Exim Bank of India. The construction work was carried out by SMC Infrastructures Private Limited, ensuring that the island’s residents now have access to a stable and sustainable water supply.
