We are witnessing a lack of opportunities for those who are not MDP: Jabir

Kaashidhoo MP Abdulla Jabir has said that today what we are seeing is a lack of opportunities for those who are not part of MDP.

Speaking during the Parliament meeting on Wednesday, MP Jabir said that independent candidates should be involved in all processes of the revision of the Parliament Regulation as well. He added that Parliament committees should not just be made up of MDP members.

Jabir stressed that the Parliament Committee on Oversight of the Government should include members who are not part of ruling MDP as well. He said that though the numbers may be low, there still are members who are not part of MDP.

"That should be respected. When rules and regulations are being made, independently elected candidates should also be given the opportunity to be involved.
